2016 Lion's Share
Color: Pale straw
Body: Medium/full
Primary Nose:Vanilla, light baking spice, persimmon
Secondary Nose: lime leaf
General Comments: Layered tropical fruit; mango, mangosteen, apple,
white peach, and a hint of clove combined with gentle citrus acidity and a
warm soft mouthfeel. Very balanced and layered, a powerful and
substantial wine.
Paring Suggestions: This vintage of Lion’s Share is very adaptable, and
while delicate and nuanced for sipping alone, it has enough balanced flavor
to embrace light tomato dishes, wild mushrooms, even roast duck, as well
as grilled seafood. Try it with foil gras stuffed prunes, or roasted blue
cheese stuffed figs, drizzled with balsamic glaze.
