2017 Three Lions
This 2017 Three Lions is a red Rhone style blend of 74% Grenache Noir, 13% Cinsault, and 13% Counoise, all locally grown in Santa Clara Valley. Each varietal was fermented separately in small batches with extended maceration, punched down by hand, and aged sur lie with batonnage (stirring) with new French oak.

Tasting notes
Color: Medium Ruby
Body: medium
Primary Nose: Cherry, light vanilla/oak, fresh citrus
Secondary Nose: light floral
General Comments: A nuanced and delightful Grenache forward blend. Resonating clear ruby color, soft but nicely present tannins and a crisp acid finish combine to produce a versatile and satisfying wine. Meticulous bottle aging presents this wine in a beautiful state to enjoy today. I would also recommend trying this wine chilled to a cool cellar temperature on a warm early fall day - it has the fruit/acid balance to stay refreshing!
Pairs well with BBQ ribs or pork, Mediterranean cuisine, charcuterie, sautéed duck breast or duck confit salad.
